About Iridology

Iridology (pronounced eye-rid-ology) is the study of health achieved by examining the coloured section of the eye or iris; the white part of the eye- the sclera and the black centre or pupil. The iris reflexes every tissue and organ in the body by way of the optic nerve. This information is recorded in different eye structures which help to determine underlying constitutional weakness.

Iridology is one of the oldest modalities used to assess the health status in individuals dating as far as Egyptian time. Yet, the first known study of iris signs was re-discovered in the early 1800’s when Ignatz von Peczely from Hungary, saw unusual dark markings appearing in an owl’s eye after having injured its leg. Years later, working as a physician he developed the first eye chart by documenting information of his hospital patients in conjunction with their iris findings.

Iridology as a modality has come a long way since the 1800’s of course. World renowned physicians have contributed to its advancement over the years to the point where nowadays, Universities and Colleges over the world have incorporated this modality into their curricula.

Today, technology offers practitioners of iridology the means of recording and sharing the valuable information that the eyes portray about the whole body. As a company dedicated to the health assessment of animals through their eye, we utilise high technology to obtain accurate iris reading that can later on be compared, analysed and utilised for research purposes!
